CVS Caremark Cuts Ribbon on NY Distribution Center
CVS Caremark held a grand opening ceremony at its new distribution center in Chemung, New York, marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by a number of federal, state and local officials, including U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, U.S. Representative Tom Reed, Lt. Governor Bob Duffy and leaders from the towns of Elmira and Chemung.
For CVS Caremark the new distribution facility represents a $90 million commitment to the Chemung area. Just this year the center will create 300 new jobs for the area and that's expected to grow to 600 through 2012. This is part of CVS Caremark’s overall growth and the company is currently hiring for 5,000 positions around the country and across all areas of our business.
Senator Schumer praised the facility as “just what the doctor ordered” for the Southern Tier economy of New York State.
